Saw Hellboy last night and I have to say I was a little disappointed. The action--when there was action--was pretty good, and the humor was right on, but the slow parts were REEEEEEEALLY long and REEEEEEEALLY slow. I agreed with Mom's analysis: It was "uneven." Also, there was only one monster they found through the whole damn thing, which got really old after awhile. Guillermo del Toro needs to never direct or write the screenplay for a movie again.

(Although, Ron Perlman is always hot when dressed up as a "monster." He just has the perfect "hot monster" face. Like the "Beauty and the Beast" 80's TV show starring Linda Hamilton. My mom watched that religiously, and I watched it with her 'cuz I was a kid and we only had one decent TV. Perlman was SO HOT as Vincent. You just have no idea.)

And Perlman looks JUST LIKE H.B., which is awesome. Unfortunately, that couldn't save the movie. Sigh.

Might go to The Great Escape today, but then again, maybe not. I honestly have no clothing left, so I'd better do some serious laundry today.

Woke up to the sound of chainsaws and guys arguing in Spanish. Turns out the Mexicans have invaded our front yard and have taken it upon themselves to lash their bodies to our trees and do a little trimming. Peered out my window and saw a guy tied half-way up the tree near our front door. It was kind of surreal, especially since I was half-asleep at the time. Every once in a while, they'd break into English. The most I got out of it was:

Guy 1: "You wanna chainsaw? Think you might be needin' a chainsaw."
Guy 2: "Naw, got my own. It should be alright."
Guy 1: "Ya sure?"
Guy 2: "Yeah. Don' worry 'bout it."
Guy 1 (sounding wary): "Well, alright...."

I could have screamed, especially since I was trying to SLEEP at the time. (I am MEAN when people wake me up.)

Also plan on studying more GRE stuff. I am SO not looking forward to that.

Bought an eyebrow pencil and gel combo thingy yesterday. My eyebrows are ab-fab now, thankyouverymuch. (Translation: You can SEE my eyebrows now, thankyouverymuch.)

Should get moving on studying. I don't hate studying that much, but I'd rather be drawing. I seriously need a bumper sticker that says, "I'd rather be drawing."

Better go.

DUDE, you didn't like Hellboy? I loved it, but maybe it works better on the big screen.
And don't knock Guillermo del Toro, dude. :P He did Devil's Backbone and Blade 2.

It was sorta lukewarm, I thought. Never got around to seeing Blade 2 (heard it rawked, though). I thought H.B.'s personality and wit were perfect, but the slow parts were really slow and it took a long time for the plot to get going. And a few of the special effects were a little cheesy (when he runs over the falling bridge). Oh, well.

Thursday would be good, I think. Maybe 7:30ish? It might be fun to get a group together. Have you seen The Village yet? I still haven't seen it.

Oh, I have an account through yahoo. The addy is: alexa_karuda (just add the server name and stuff). (Hoping the 'bots won't get to that one through here, at least.)

Anywho, I guess it'd be easiest to make plans through email or LJ, since I'd probably be calling during the day, and you work all day. Or whatever. Lemme know what you're up for. We could have a Blade marathon, since I haven't seen either of those movies. If somebody wanted to host that. I'm up for anything, really.
